Yukka ‘Artic Tern’. 2018.

Digital single artwork for Yukka ‘Artic Tern’. Yukka was asked to participate in wiaiwya’s Seven at 77 album 2018, a collaborative album where 7 bands are asked to produce a 77 minute song to benefit Médecins Sans Frontières; the plan to raise £7777.

Yukka asked me to create the artwork for his 77 minute track, and we set the parameter of making the artwork and mixing the track in a 7 hour studio session. As Yukka was creating the music, I listened carefully, painting paper with colours that resonated with the song. My artwork is created by cutting and pasting 7 shapes (including the background too) of 7 colours to represent different parts of the track, telling a story of a journey that I experienced when listening.
